He thought it took a bit too long to arrive, but he was very excited to get it and may have been somewhat impatient.He says his very expensive Gibson sounds better, but says this is a good guitar for the price--the case is a bit flimsy though. Also we found this price to be better than any other we could find by $50!

(More customer reviews)This guitar is a steal!!!I bought this guitar because of the EMGs, floyd rose, and the new SUPER thin neck designed for this guitar.Before this guitar I was in love with my Jackson DKMG, and I have a hard time going back to it now after playing this guitar.The neck is extremely thin and it allows for the EASIEST access to the higher frets.The only trouble I had was the difference in playing style.With my Jackson I played with a lot of bends and vibrato.I had trouble playing that way with this guitar, but I quickly adjusted to using the whammy instead.When buying this guitar from Amazon, it comes with the worst strings I have ever played.Don't bother using them just replace the strings and set the tuning and floyd rose how you like and have at it.

The DC6F uses bolt-on construction, an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. The DC6F offers serious tone with its pair of active EMG humbuckers. In the bridge position is a high-output 81. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the 81 delivers incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain, so your leads can cut through the densest mix.

In the neck position the Elite features an 85-7. It's a slightly more well-rounded version of the aggressive 81. With close aperture coils loaded with Alnico V magnets, the 85 offers plenty of versatility, with a muscular growl and smooth lead tones, perfect for the muddiest of blues to the most extreme metal. On the electronics front this axe keeps it simple, with a three-way toggle between pickups and a single volume knob. Grover Tuners

The Dean Vendetta Series
With four models to choose from, the Vendettas have string-through-body design, classic Dean V Ferrule pattern, dual Humbuckers, a 25.5-inch scale, and solid mahogany bodies with a maple neck. The Vendetta 1.0 and 2.0 are bolt-on models with black hardware. The 2.0 model features a solid flame maple top. The Vendetta 3.0 and 4.0 sport neck-through construction with the Pearl Evil Eye inlay running the length of the fretboard. The 4.0 version has a beautiful quilted maple top and is available in an all too popular "Tiger Eye" finish. Mahogany Body
As with most of their instruments, Dean uses a mahogany body for the Vendettas. Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain.


The quilted maple top and back means a guitar that looks amazing, and it also focuses and brightens that mahogany tone a bit.
Neck-Through-Body Construction
The Vendetta 4.0 features neck-through construction, which is typically found on high-end instruments. This means maximized sustain, resonance throughout the whole instrument, further tuning stabilization, and (as with set necks) easier access to the upper frets.
The 25.5-inch scale maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with pearl "Evil Eye" inlays. Dean Humbucker Pickups
To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its "Time Capsule" humbuckers. These pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination, and volume and tone controls are provided.Grover Tuners

I was just looking for mid-priced guitar and ready to take in-shop testing because I know how risky to buy musical instrument without testing with my own hands. Just for reference, I searched at "amazon.com" and met this guitar. There were several merits; huge discount (however, I never believe MSRP), relatively good hardwares (although I did not have information or experience for Time capsule pickups)and free hard shell case (always over $100)and so on; and I finally purchased it

Although it's alsolutely not a professional high-end guitar compared to several thousand bucks guitar, it's relatively well-crafted, flawless and well-balanced in sound. Neck was comfortable to play even better than my friend's Ibanez at least for me. I thought Mahogany body would be very heavy but it was very lighter than my expectation. Because of relatively heavier headstock, I always have to fix my left hand to hold guitar in standing-up playing and this still bothers me a little bit. Time capsule pickup was more than expectation. It was powerful enough in bridge and very fancy and round-shaped sound in neck. I enjoy to play a little bit old-styled hard music such as Metallica in 1980's and this guitar also makes very good sounds for them. In addition, sustain was incredibly long and going forever!! Hard shell case really came together and quality is really good.

I did't have any experinece for Dean guitar before this one and this deal gave me a good impression for this company (price and quality). If you're enjoying various heavy metal music, I think this guitar can make various sounds for you. If you're also looking for mid-priced guitar with good quality under $600~700, this guitar may be one of good choice. I really like this guitar!!!

Very well made,Fretwork and neck are as good as a Gibson Flying V.

Comfortable to play with a strap.

They have Randall pups which are OK but a upgrade to Dimarzio's are in order,So for the money this guitar Is a steal,Also the Gig Bag included is Well padded and has a hanger to hang from a hook..Great job Washburn I am impressed!
