SX SJM62 LH 3TS Left Handed Review

SX SJM62 LH 3TS Left Handed

I actually bought mine direct from Rondo Music, they ship very fast and secure, they even wrap foam around the strings. Very professional. I would deal with them again, and again. Now the SJM. I dont know about the color in the picture because mine has black P-90's, and knobs. I will be honest and tell you that it is not playable out of the box. This is mainly because the el cheap o wanna be Tune-O-Matic is useless, when you strum the strings will slip off the crappy barrel saddles and you can guess from there what you could do (nothing). Luckily I had an epiphone SG special that I had ripped up for parts and I took the TOM off it and dropped it right onto the SJM, making it instantly playable, so before you buy it you will want to buy a TOM before you get it. It reminded me of one of those novelty guitars that you can buy on the boardwalk, until the TOM upgrade and now I have the angry sounding cheap guitar that has balls. I use the whammy all the time and It does'nt really knock it out of tune too bad, but that could be the workings of the 2 Graphite string trees I put on it, replacing the stock stainless steel ones. The wiring is pretty primitive and DIY friendly. Just mind the loose wire to the input jack when replacing the pickguard (maybe yours will be different).
Now the sound. The P-90s are great, they really really suprised me, because stock pups usually suck, these have a nice throaty angry growl, I was playing the power chords from "Know Your Enemy" by Green Day, sounded exactly like it. It can also be sweet and melodius but the only negative is that they make a little bit too much extra noise, some wire shielding should kill that, or just throw Dimarzio p-90s with split coils in it like I am and you'll be happy like R.Kelly at daycare. It also handles pedals very well. Im not really and effects nut yet, (my Boss ME-70 is on it's way) but I am a faithful user of my Boss DS-1 and it sounds damn sexy. It's nice and balanced as far as weight goes, very smooth neck and body, very very comfortable to hold and play. The strap knobs are nicelittle pancake shaped ones, and I am pretty confident with them, even though I dont gig. The nut is good, but I always like to change them for graphite, same for the TOM, graphite is easier on your strings, limiting breakage. Buy locking tuners, this is always a given on any guitar. The neck is fast, and the action can get nice and low, but heres where you'll run into your final problem, you can get a nice bit of buzz in the top of the neck (3rd fret to be clear) no matter how you adjust it. You will need to get a tech to crown and polish your frets. Don't worry it's cheap, and you wont have the same guitar as Mikey down the street. I really think this is a collectable, who knows, may be worth a lot of money one day. Look at Jack White's Airline. I also think this is something you may have seen Kurt Cobain play if he was still here. Buy it do some simple upgrades and you have something unique, cool, and refreshing, in a land of les paul and strat. Also my neck was pretty dry, so I took some pledge and wiped her down to a shine. Buy this you wont regret spending money on it. I plan to dump 400 into it to make it super unique, but I won't tell. OH AND IT'S LEFTY!!! PLEASE SUPPORT RONDO MUSIC AS AN UP AND COMING GUITAR RETAILER/MANUFACTURER, WHATEVER, BECAUSE THEY MAKE GOOD GUITARS AND THEY MAKE LEFTYS!!!!

Kerry King Approved B.C. Rich Guitars
Kerry King has earned his reputation as one of Thrash Metal's premier guitarists by consistently delivering crushing riffs, ripping tones and live performances with the ruthless precision of a Panzer tank division. Just as consistent is King's stated preference for B.C. Rich guitars, which have fueled his sonic fire for years.B.C. Rich works closely with Kerry to offer a selection of "Kerry King Approved" guitars that meet both his demanding expectations and ours. From the Signature Wartribe and Kerry King V to the Metal Master Warlock and Beast V, these are guitars that reflect Kerry's requirements for consummate playability, tone and construction. Pick one up and you'll see for yourself why Kerry King slays the masses with B.C. Rich guitars.Basswood Body With Beveled Top
Basswood provides a warmer tone than maple and other hardwoods, along with great low-end response, and is overall a lightweight wood. It's perfect for "V" style body shapes just like this one.The "Generation 2" tribal graphics, framed by fire, are just the icing on the cake.Beveled Top
Most of B.C. Rich's body styles employ a beveled edge around the shape, including this one. In many ways bevels on a top are similar to facets on a cut stone. They catch the light and reflect at different angles, giving the instrument more of a three dimensional look. Some of the B.C. Rich top bevels are extreme and wide while others are subtle and narrow. Occasionally the shape of the instrument is accented by painting the bevels a contrasting color.Bolt-on Construction
A number of B.C. Rich guitars use a classic Bolt-on construction. On these instruments a neck (typically maple) is bolted on with 4 screws to the body. This construction offers some added flexibility in the instruments adjustment and provides the option to change the neck in the future. The Kerry King V Generation 2 features a maple neck with an ultra-playable natural satin finish, and a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with just a 12th fret tribal inlay, for an extra ominous look. The "V" body shape makes access to higher notes a breeze, so you can shred away in that upper register without any problems.B.C. Rich BRCA Pickups
This axe features B.C. Rich BRCA active pickups, for an aggressive tone that's virtually noise-free. The onboard preamp provides a higher output signal, and as a result you get serious full-range tone with plenty of control--from chugging rhythm tracks to squealing leads.Kahler X-Trem Tremolo
Anyone familiar with Kerry King's playing knows he doesn't shy away from some serious tremolo abuse. Do the same, from epic dive bombs to more subtle enhancements, and stay in tune. Sharing all of the features and benefits of the Kahler Hybrid line, the Kahler X-TREM series models include onboard fine tuners and 6 way adjustable saddles: side to side for perfect string spacing; front to back for accurate intonation and up or down for ultimate action and radius matching.

B.C. Rich Kerry King Signature V Guitar, Black with Original Tribal Graphic

I love this guitar!

It exceeded my expectations in every way.Where to start?

This neck-through design, shape, and feel of the guitar is amazing. The neck construction is very tight and smooth. Binding would just get in the way. Its very smooth.

The frets and action on this guitar are low and fast.I love low action, and the Kerry King Signature V didn't disappoint. It so easy to hit harmonics when you want to, and the size of the frets are perfect for speed.

The abalone tribal inlays were one of the biggest surprises of theguitar. They are high quality abalone shaped in the KK tribal pattern and are very colorful when the light hits them. The pictures don't do them justice.

The best part of the neck, beside the headstock that just looks demonic in real-life, is the ebony fretboard.I've always been very picky on the fretboards I play on and was concerned about some other Ebony fretboards I've seen. However, it is simply AMAZING on this guitar. The Ebony is smooth, no discoloration, and the perfect curve for playing fast.Bright when you want it, chunky when you need it.I just can't get over how happy I am with the ebony fretboard.

The sound of the guitar is pure evil.Fast and heavy. It has a deep growl that you can feel pushing air when you play on a half-stack.Between the EMG pickups, the Kahler tremolo, and my personal favorite, the PA2 preamp, you can get some insane heavy sounds.

The PA2 preamp is great. It gives a 20db boost and when you hit it on, you can hold a note in a long sustain pretty much forever. Its perfect for over-the-top solos.

The look is amazing.Again, the picture don't do it justice. The guitar I received had a black Kahler tremolo instead of the chrome one you see in the pictures.I didn't specifically ask for a black, maybe that's how they're all made now. However, it gives it a much harder look.I haven't had any issue with the tremolo after restringing with 10 gauge and down-tuning a 1/2 step. The beveled edges give it a more white outline look to it in the pictures, its much darker looking in normal light.

Again, the sound is awesome.

I really just can't get over how cool this guitar is.I'll admit, I'm a SLAYER fan, and if you want that same heavy, evil sound... this is the guitar.

Quality Construction
King's Signature V features a maple body for a nice, even tone--even at monster volumes. The hard maple neck with through-body design means serious sustain, and the ebony fretboard is graced with abalone tribal inlays. This axe doesn't skimp on hardware either, with Grover Mini-Rotomatic tuning machines and the flat-top Kahler tremolo bridge. Paired with killer electronics, this V is definitely ready to live up to the Kerry King legacy.Beveled Top
Most of B.C. Rich body styles employ a beveled edge around the shape. In many ways bevels on a top are similar to facets on a cut stone. They catch the light and reflect at different angles giving the instrument more of a three dimensional look. Some of the B.C. Rich top bevels are extreme and wide while others are subtle and narrow. Occasionally the shape of the instrument is accented by painting the bevels a contrasting color.Neck-Through Construction
B.C. Rich is known as one of the pioneers in Neck Through construction. They utilize it on many of their guitars, because it provides the best possible sustain, resonance, comfort and access to higher frets. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high end guitars. This construction starts with premium North American maple or Mahogany and runs from the tip of the headstock to the end of the guitar. This means that the headstock, fingerboard, pickups and bridge all are mounted to this single sound foundation. Sonically it is a difference you can hear. The neck-through construction also allows us to cut away more of the body and neck at the neck joint which provides comfort that no bolt-on or set-neck could offer. You will find the neck through feature on all of our top of the line B.C. Rich models.EMG Active Pickups
In the bridge position, the Signature V boasts an EMG-81, a high-output pickup designed especially for the lead guitarist. The 81 is at its best for high volume overdrive and amps with a master volume. Whether you're playing power rock and roll, or overdriving your amp, there's a razor sharp attack, and incredible sustain for brilliant soloing. If you're looking for exceptional qualities in a rock pickup, the EMG-81 is the one.An EMG-85 is in the neck position. Although the EMG-85 has more measurable output than the 81, its frequency response and string interface are different. The 85 uses two Alnico magnet loaded coils with a wide aperture to maintain a beefy lowend and a fatter top end. Because of a more natural tone, it works great as a rhythm and blues pickup because it has loads of output but isn't muddy.Kahler Tremolo
The Kahler 7300 flat mount series locking/floating tremolo system is designed to drop onto any flat top guitar. All 7300 series models include onboard fine tuners and 6 way adjustable saddles: side to side for perfect string spacing; front to back for accurate intonation and up or down for ultimate action and radius matching.Grover Mini-Rotomatics
These precision machines fit guitar headpieces that will not take full size machines. The mini buttons provide more space for players' fingers (even larger fingers) to tune strings. Gear ratio is 14:1. Sealed-in lubrication keeps Mini-Rotomatics perfect for a lifetime.

Jackson® RR24M Rhoads - Snow White w/ Black Bevels Randy Rhoads Signature Electric Guitar with Case Review

JacksonĀ® RR24M Rhoads - Snow White w/ Black Bevels Randy Rhoads Signature Electric Guitar with Case
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought one of these a couple months ago from a nearby shop. It has a great sound, is fairly lightweight, the neck is thin and the fretboard is nice and smooth. The tremolo is a bit tough to get right, but once in tune it stays in tune. I was extremely surprised at how long my guitar stays in tune, especially with the whammy and bends. Probably helps if the strings are of good quality. Mine came with 4 springs. All around, I think it's worth the price, even though I got a great deal on mine. If you want more features/pickups then you'll have to shell out for the more expensive models; but I like it simple :)

One thing to be aware of is the strap. Get a good one. Depending on the size of the strap , the strap adjustment lock will need to be in a position that is comfortable near the left arm, or high enough so it won't scratch the back of the guitar near the input jack (which is just above the strap hook).

Last but not least, get the Jackson hardshell case (or any other hardshell case that claims to fit this, though the Jackson one is guaranteed to fit). It's worth it. Took me sometime to break down and buy it, but I think it's better to spend more on a good case than having to worry about damaging my guitar.

Product Description:
The Spartan-looking RR24M Randy Rhoads guitar is a 24-fret no-nonsense neck-through-body monster. It delivers the goods in the spirit of its legendary namesake. Pro features include a beveled alder body and rock maple neck-through-body for tight lows, throaty mids, and biting highs. The compound-radius maple fingerboard anchors 24 jumbo frets that combine with the swept back body design for easy access and extreme note bending. Includes a single EMG-81 pickup, a Floyd Rose FRT-O2000 double-locking 2-point tremolo, and black hardware. This Jackson guitar looks hot and sounds hot! Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better.
