Mahogany Body
Dean uses a mahogany body for most of its contemporary guitars.Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain. Plus, it looks sharp all dressed up in white and gold.Set Neck Construction

(More customer reviews)I own quite a few guitars.. This guitar kicks just about every guitars *ss in it's price point.. The neck is fast and the stock pickups produce a shredding thick and high end squeal. Pair this with Dime's Wah pedal and you'll be tearing it up in no time! The tremolo dive bombs over and over without coming out of tune.

FYI.... I had a custom Anderson built which cost over 4K. This guitar sounds and plays pretty damn close to the Anderson.. Sometimes I wonder why I have the Anderson....

(More customer reviews)This is just simply a great guitar.Keep in mind the floyd rose is licensed but I have dive bombed on this guitar repeatedly and it does not go out of tune.The 255 comes with active EMG pickups.Mine is not the 255 version but the one just under it, but I know the EMG's simply scream as a fellow musicians has these pickups and they are brutal.

My Dime V came with a dimebucker but still is a very good pickup.

You may want to have the action set by a Luthier to your preference. I was able to adjust mine with some ease but I have playing quite a while. Also, do you homeowork on floyd's before you change the strings or you could be hurtin'.The bridge must be blocked before removing the strings or you will throw the whole set up off.Also, floyd's require the balls on the string to be cut before being placed into the bridge.This is not about this particular guitar, floyd's are great tremolos but you must have some basic knowledge of how they work.

Dimebag started playing Dean ML style guitars in the late '70s, and made it one of the most recognizable shapes today. The Razorback V 255 offers serious tone with its pair of active EMG humbuckers. In the bridge position is a high-output 81. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the 81 delivers incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain, so your leads can cut through the densest mix.

In the neck position the Elite features an 85. It's a slightly more well-rounded version of the aggressive 81. With close aperture coils loaded with Alnico V magnets, the 85 offers plenty of versatility, with a muscular growl and smooth lead tones, perfect for the muddiest of blues to the most extreme metal.
