Giannini GWSCRA 12 Brazil Series Steel Craviola® Guitar (Acoustic, 12-String) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I allready own a professional model Giannini steel string Spruce and Indian Rosewood six string beatuty and I wanted a twelve string to complement it.The Bollivian Rosewood(Morado) wood is wonderfull with a nice bookmatched back and the spruce top is flawless. The back had a few voids in the stain and makes the new guitar look cheaper than it is.There were a few small dings in the headstick and the string set was not up to par with my $1,000.00 (here at Amazon)model.I replaced the strings with D'Addarios and polished the back with Martin Guitar polish a few times and the increased shine made the back look better.Thge guitar plays very well as good as my Brazillian Washburn 12 string and my maple Sigma 12 string. All in all I am very satified with the guitar.$467.00 with a soft gig bag and free shipping made this a good purchase I just wish that I could have had my pick of a few guitars to choose from. The odd shape makes this guitar very comfortable to play.

Breedlove Passport Plus OM/CMe, H-H Guitar Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I own a Breedlove American Series and Pro Series guitar, and I wanted to have a smaller body as a travel-beater guitar.I'd ordered the least expensive C200/SMP (blemished) from another vendor but to my luck, they had run out and offered me an incredible deal when I asked about the Passport Plus OM/CMe.Intonation is spot on and the setup from Breedlove is perfect.VERY EASY to play.I really don't expect many issues from Breedlove instruments... even the ones that are made in Korea. The sound is a lot bigger than what I'd expect from an OM size guitar.

This little wonder holds its own against guitars three times its price.Makes a great full size travel guitar or for those who just want a great sounding value OM!

Blueridge BR-40CE Contemporary Dreadnaught Cutaway Guitar with Fishman Classic 4T Pickup Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)...and it is the acoustic/electric cutaway "cousin" of the Blueridge BR-40 Contemporary Dreadnaught Guitar.

I have seen/played this model prior to purchasing it; the quality & craftsmanship on this guitar are high-quality...and it rings like a bell, with or without amplification. Things like:
- a tight-grained solid spruce top
- a rosewood bridge
- a bone nut and saddle
- an East Indian rosewood fingerboard
- a carved mahogany neck with a dovetail neck joint
- mahogany back and sides
- vintage-style quality open-back tuners
are just some of the impressive details.

One downside: In the recent past, this model has been sold with the Saga Golden Gate hardshell case included (most online retailers sold it that way). Apparently this has changed, since the one I just received came without...which was a disappointment for 2 reasons:

- it's good protection for when the guitar is shipped (shipping w/o a case is rolling the dice in my experience)
- it provides ongoing protection (especially for humidity control) once in your home or when traveling.

There had previously been an image depicting the case along with the guitar, which has since been removed; Amazon still indicates a shipping weight of 25 pounds, which is what the guitar & case weigh together...but this must have been an oversight.

If a case had been included...as it has typically been in the past...I would have given it a 5-star rating, which I almost never do in my reviews.

I'd recommend using an included case or gig bag as a pre-requisite for any online guitar purchase, since UPS & Fed-X don't generally have the word "fragile" in their dictionaries.

I hope to post pictures in the near future.

Happy playing!

Blueridge BR-143CE Historic Mahogany 000 Guitar with Fishman Prefix Plus-T pickup Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I own this guitar and have been very pleased with it.I should add up front that guitar is only a hobby for me and I'ma chukka-chukka rythmn player at my best.A decent ear, but no professional. The 143 CE is my first Blueridge and my first 000-size guitar.I was attracted by the compactness and having an alternative to dreadnoughts. The action and tone are fine, although it can get a little lost playing with larger/louder guitars.I don't play it amplified much, but the electronics are very good to my unrefined ear.I had to swap out the saddle when I started to get a lot of buzz on the upper frets, but that did the trick. The neck looks great so it may just have been a strange, dry winter. I have heard good things about other Blueridge models but can't speak to their quality. As for this guitar, I think it's a good buy although I'd like to get it for a couple hundred less than the advertised price.

Seagull Entourage Rustic Mini Jumbo QI Guitar Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I searched for a while for a guitar I truly loved, not even being particular about the price. I played this in a store and I fell in love instantly. Not only is it beautiful, but the Seagull makes a great warm and strong sound. I haven't plugged it into a system yet, but the tuner works great and I honestly couldn't be happier. I played several Martin's and Taylor's that were in the thousands of dollars and was way more impressed with this one. I highly reccommend it.
