Blueridge BR-40CE Contemporary Dreadnaught Cutaway Guitar with Fishman Classic 4T Pickup Review

(More customer reviews)...and it is the acoustic/electric cutaway "cousin" of the Blueridge BR-40 Contemporary Dreadnaught Guitar.

I have seen/played this model prior to purchasing it; the quality & craftsmanship on this guitar are high-quality...and it rings like a bell, with or without amplification. Things like:
- a tight-grained solid spruce top
- a rosewood bridge
- a bone nut and saddle
- an East Indian rosewood fingerboard
- a carved mahogany neck with a dovetail neck joint
- mahogany back and sides
- vintage-style quality open-back tuners
are just some of the impressive details.

One downside: In the recent past, this model has been sold with the Saga Golden Gate hardshell case included (most online retailers sold it that way). Apparently this has changed, since the one I just received came without...which was a disappointment for 2 reasons:

- it's good protection for when the guitar is shipped (shipping w/o a case is rolling the dice in my experience)
- it provides ongoing protection (especially for humidity control) once in your home or when traveling.

There had previously been an image depicting the case along with the guitar, which has since been removed; Amazon still indicates a shipping weight of 25 pounds, which is what the guitar & case weigh together...but this must have been an oversight.

If a case had been included...as it has typically been in the past...I would have given it a 5-star rating, which I almost never do in my reviews.

I'd recommend using an included case or gig bag as a pre-requisite for any online guitar purchase, since UPS & Fed-X don't generally have the word "fragile" in their dictionaries.

Seagull Performer CW Flame Maple HG QI Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this guitar as a gift for a friend. She was onkly able to play it for a few months and got sick, had surgery. When she returned to play the gutar she was unhappy with the sound. We took it to a shopand right off the bat they noticed the saddle was seperating from the body. manufacturing defect? What? It sat in the case no one handleing it, we purchased the guitar May 2010 and this is Sept. 2010 so 4 months and it is falling apart. I have e-mail Sarasota and am still waiting . $ 700.00 is alot of money can I get an answer of some sort anytime soon.

Seagull Entourage Rustic Mini Jumbo QI Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I searched for a while for a guitar I truly loved, not even being particular about the price. I played this in a store and I fell in love instantly. Not only is it beautiful, but the Seagull makes a great warm and strong sound. I haven't plugged it into a system yet, but the tuner works great and I honestly couldn't be happier. I played several Martin's and Taylor's that were in the thousands of dollars and was way more impressed with this one. I highly reccommend it.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this guitar and have had to return 3 different guitars all because they showed up damaged! Amazon is hopefully addressing their shipping methods, because it's a shame to lose 3 of these otherwise awesome instruments to bad packaging/storage. That said I still give them 4 stars because they are the BEST guitar you can get for the money. I played everything in stores between 400-800 dollars and the Seagull was the best sounding value hands down. Too bad I still don't have a guitar!
