And I've owned a lot of guitars.and to the best of my knowage this is as good as the guitars up in the thousnds.As far as looks ,playabilty,hardware,woods and performance ,most of all craftmenship of beauty! For the price you are stealing it as far as Im concerned. A no Brainer! the only thing they could do is put a American Floyed Rose tremlo systemon it for good dive booms! but then you would have to get off of more cash. End of story I bought it and I couldn't be any Happyer! Because Im jamming to the bank sort of speaking." So Buy it you wont be sorry. Unless your just a EMG kind of man or Chick !

(More customer reviews)This is a great guitar--got it super-fast from Amazon, as usual.The action and playability are excellent, and access to the upper frets is good as well.I'm a huge Schecter fan (this is my fourth one), and they are well known for building quality instruments with good components at [relatively] affordable prices...that said, I give this only 4 stars because of the following:

*The tone knob on my instrument was not completely secured, so it jiggles around a bit within the body of the guitar--but only if I intentionally move it around.Since I pretty much just dime all the knobs out anyways and rarely mess with them, this isn't a big deal for me, but it does seem like something that Schecter's quality control folks should have caught before shipping.

*There is a minor blemish on the top of the neck (by where the top position markers are that are facing the guitar player) on the third fret; the finish has a small 'bump' in it that I do notice occasionally, but again it's very minor and not a big deal at all.

Just for fun, I removed the back panel to see if I could tighten the tone knob myself but it's not as simple as you would think--I couldn't fix it.I probably could have returned the guitar and gotten another without any problems, but to be honest I'm just not that picky and neither of these items bother me.The instrument does play well and stays in tune quite nicely, and the wood looks absolutely beautiful (I got the tobacco burst color, I believe it's called)...it has a deep, rich color and texture to it that is quite impressive upon close inspection.

If you like Schecter guitars and the Fender body style, this is a great guitar that is very playable and relatively inexpensive compared to some of the competition.If you are also very picky about your guitars, make sure you give it a good look-over before you keep it because you may find a minor blemish here or there that would necessitate repair work or a return if it bothers you enough....good luck!

(More customer reviews)This guitar is great! I play guitar since 17 years and I tried many brands and models, and I can tell you that this one is something special. First of all, it is a beautiful instrument with a wonderful finish (especially for a korean guitar that are very variable on that point of view) it is very pretty and well designed.

It is important to know that I don't personally much like mahogany guitars neither rosewood fingerboards (I'm a Fender american stratocaster maple neck and ash body fan and owner) but this guitar changed my mind about both woods. The mahogany body is surprisingly light and the neck is fast and pleases the hand.
Now the pickups : Well here is the only black spot. These active EMGs and very nice and not as typed as much EMGs (usually I don't like this brand much, DiMarzio got my heart here). They are pretty versatile especially due to the coiltap system, but they are not as silent as told... These simply doesn't like computers and power supplies that can cause a lot of hum, this can be stressful sometimes. Except that, they are very nice, work well with the mahogany body (and neck) and don't make much noise with a guitar combo.
The playability is wonderful, great access to the 24 frets, the neck is just right pretty similar to my stratocaster's neck, mine may need a little fret job because of some fretbuzz on the low E, but nothing serious.

Overall, this is a light, very playable, great looking, nice sounding cheap guitar. Try it, it's worthy.

(More customer reviews)It was July of 2006, my band was about to play a show and my main guitar was falling questionably out of tune during songs at practice, so I went on a quest to get something new, that's when I stumbled across this guitar I knew nothing about, a c-1 Schecter Hellraiser. Mahogany body and neck with a carved maple top, nice arched fret board with a great feel to the neck, and powerful EMG pickups give this guitar an awesome punch. The 25.5 scale makes this PERFECT for detuning without any string flapping.
My experiences with this guitar, I have nothing bad to say about the guitar, other than the fact that when I wasn't using it live in favor of another guitar, I paid dearly, but the second I plugged the Hellraiser in, not a bad show, not flying out of tune, just very dependable.
A lot of people will frown on the Mahogany wood choice, but I've dropped this several times, (thrown once during a rock star temper tantrum) and the guitar keeps on ticking, and most importantly, the red finish still looks gorgeous!

I am so glad I took a chance on this guitar, it feels like no other import I have ever played and Schecter has done a great job with the Hellraiser series.

The Hellraiser C-1 features a mahogany body to provide smooth, detailed sound. The quilted maple top adds a little more punch to the sound, and more than a little punch to the guitar's looks--it's a real knockout paired with the devilish transparent red finish and abalone binding.
If you're a fan of serious sustain, you'll appreciate the three-piece set mahogany neck. It's topped off by a speedy rosewood fretboard with 24 X-jumbo frets and wicked-looking "gothic cross" inlays.
EMG Active Pickups
The EMG-81TW in the bridge position gives you all the crunch and aggression of a standard 81 with a single-coil mode for a different sound. Dual internal preamps grant each mode its distinct sound while still providing EMG's well-known noise canceling technology.
Up by the neck, the EMG-89 also offers two pickups in one. Loaded with Alnico V magnets and featuring separate preamps for dual coil/single coil modes, these pickups will let you get a warm, powerful humbucker sound or a chimey single-coil strat sound.
Each pickup gets a volume knob with push/pull coil tap, and they share a tone knob. The 3-way switch lets you dial in a neck or bridge sound.
