(More customer reviews)This guitar is like having a Les Paul and a Fender Strat or Tele all in one.It has two humbuckers that can be coil split and the usual pickup switch.The tones are quite versatile and can accomodate almost any style.The neck is incredibly fast. The bindings, inlays and the carved top is beautiful.I have several Les Pauls and Strats and Telecasters.For the price and wormanship, this guitar can't be beat.

The Hagstrom Select Series, Vintage Series, and UltraLux Series guitars recapture the original glorious Hagstrom style.They are built to the same stringent quality standards and feature Hastrom's exclusive technologies including the legendary H-Expander Truss Rod while introducing a number of new technological advances such as the Resinator Fretboard in order to guarantee that these are the finest guitars on the market.The UltraLux Series Ultra Swede is a soloist's dream, featuring a new state-of-the-art neck design that is so thin it has to be played to be believed. Measuring a mere 18-19mm thick, the UltraLux's neck still benefits from Hagstrom's H-Expander truss rod and Resinator fretboard for stability and reliability.The Ultra Swede features a 2-piece Basswood body and Maple cap with Flame Maple veneer, and a Maple set neck, as well as distinctive pearl/abalone markers on the Resinator fretboard.The Ultra Swede features Hagstrom 15:1 die cast tuners, 24.75 inch scale length, 2 x Hagstrom custom 62 Humbuckers, 3-way toggle, and a long travel T-O-M bridge with Hagstrom Stop tail piece and 6 individual brass string blocks. I didn't just want one that looked great that sounded like garbage and I didn't want something that sounded awesome but looked rather plain.I am musician and I am well aware of what good sound is.In addition, am surrounded by a plethora of very seasoned guitar players who were very helpful in my search in those areas where I was not sure. I purchased this last year I read the description to my most seasoned buddies and I got the extra info I needed to go ahead cause I loved the unique design.When I got it, not only did it look better in person, it was already in tune out of the box! I was shocked it stayed in tune through shipping so perfectly.Since I was learning then, I let all my guitar friends try it out, and even the most critical who thought there was no guitar like a Fender was highly impressed by this guitar.He rested his fender and couldn't put this one down.This is an AMAZING guitar.It looks great it sounds great the sustain and intonation will surprise you.Most of all the feel and weight of this guitar is perfect.I am one who would have purchased a $2000 guitar if it was the right one but it had better be worth it. All that you get with this Guitar it is a steal at this price.Its unique shape makes it a breeze to solo right down to the highest tone on the neck. When you get it, plug it in an amp play a sweet dirty riff and you will breeze through the neck like butter and hear it rumble that low end just as smoothly as it finesses the mids and overtones. What more can be said play it and you will understand.

(More customer reviews)This guitar is great! I play guitar since 17 years and I tried many brands and models, and I can tell you that this one is something special. First of all, it is a beautiful instrument with a wonderful finish (especially for a korean guitar that are very variable on that point of view) it is very pretty and well designed.

It is important to know that I don't personally much like mahogany guitars neither rosewood fingerboards (I'm a Fender american stratocaster maple neck and ash body fan and owner) but this guitar changed my mind about both woods. The mahogany body is surprisingly light and the neck is fast and pleases the hand.
Now the pickups : Well here is the only black spot. These active EMGs and very nice and not as typed as much EMGs (usually I don't like this brand much, DiMarzio got my heart here). They are pretty versatile especially due to the coiltap system, but they are not as silent as told... These simply doesn't like computers and power supplies that can cause a lot of hum, this can be stressful sometimes. Except that, they are very nice, work well with the mahogany body (and neck) and don't make much noise with a guitar combo.
The playability is wonderful, great access to the 24 frets, the neck is just right pretty similar to my stratocaster's neck, mine may need a little fret job because of some fretbuzz on the low E, but nothing serious.

Overall, this is a light, very playable, great looking, nice sounding cheap guitar. Try it, it's worthy.
