Cordoba C7-CE Acoustic Electric Classical Guitar, SP/IN Review

Cordoba C7-CE Acoustic Electric Classical Guitar, SP/IN

Just receive my guitar 2 days ago. Packing was intact. First noticeable thing was the guitars weight which is very light compared to my other classical guitar. This C7-CE is the Solid European Spruce Top model and I would rate the sound wise 8/10 unplug. Sound is crystal clear and bass is tight. I would say its balance across the strings. Unlike my other Esteve Classical guitar which have more deeper bass.

Plugged-in performance is perfect, the Fishman Presys Blend Pickup System behaved well when plugged in to my church PA. My church hall sits approx 1200 people and even at high volumes the pickup manages to handle flawlessly. Setup was low out of the box but doesn't buzz when strummed hard. 50 mm nut width was nice not too big and not to small as compared to crossover guitars. I've tried a 1 7/8" width crossover guitars and I find it to narrow for my liking !!)

This guitar might not be as good as some of the other high end classicals out there. But for the money you save, I'm sure you'll be just as happy as I am.

I purchased the Cordoba C10 guitar in December 2009. First ...Cordoba sent the cheaper/ wrong versionto me on two occasions. As of May 15, 2010... Iwas still unable to get the correct guitar and Icancelled the order after being asked to wait again. The national sales manager from Cordobawas not interested or unable tohelp me.I have eight (8) e-mails from him with empty promises.) On three occasions I also asked Amazon to look into this matter. I was prepared to accept a delay but now feel that I was deceived .......There are better companies to deal with that want you business!!!!!.Why would anyone buy a Cordoba Guitar?

Yamaha CGX171SFC Flamenco Acoustic Electric, Natural¹ Review

Yamaha CGX171SFC Flamenco Acoustic Electric, Natural¹

Yamaha seems to done it again. This is one fine guitar.Yamaha is known for producing guitars that are comparable in quality to those which cost substantially more, and this guitar seems to be no exception to that rule. The guitar has fine sound, either played in acoustic mode or as amplified. It has a double pick-up system, with both a bridge pick-up as well as an adjustable microphone in the sound hole. The top is solid, which I always look for when purchasing an acoustic instrument on a common sense budget. As a Flamenco instrument, there are clear plastic overlays to the right and the left of the sound hole, which are used by the guitarist to tap the body when playing Flamenco music.A guitar tech told me that the sound of a Flamenco is brighter than that of a classical instrument, owing to the type of wood that is used in its construction. This tonic feature is something which might appeal to you even if you prefer to play classical music with this guitar--and, of course, nothing says that this cannot be done. The action of this model is lower than that of a typical classical instrument.I think that anyone could fall in love with this instrument.I doubt whether you could touch this level of quality elsewhere at the $550 price point. As I stated at the beginning of this review, --this is one fine guitar.

Product Description:
Designed to meet the needs of modern Flamenco guitarists, the CGX171FC has a warm, strongly projecting sound. A cutaway is added for enhanced high-position access, and the slightly shallower body and lower string height mean effortless handling and playability. The combination of B-Band under-saddle pickup and internal condenser mic guarantees excellent clarity and a natural-sounding, concert-like powered performance, and the mic is mounted on an adjustable gooseneck for optimum positioning. The preamp's responsive high and low tone bands are supported by a unique mic mix control that enables the signal to be blended either in or out of phase, so the sound will always be rich and feedback resistant.

Oscar Schmidt OH30SCE Acoustic Electric Guitar, Requinto Review

Oscar Schmidt OH30SCE Acoustic Electric Guitar, Requinto

I bought this Oscar Schmidt requinto about 3 months ago and I am very happy that I did. I tune the 6 th string to G and have found that satisfactory for the music I like. The high, almost mandolin sound I get from it compares to what a baby grand piano sound like next to a full sized one. The bridge on the body is very well reenforced and is shaped in a moustache configuration giving it a well made, appealing look. I very happy and satisfied with my purchase.

Cordoba 55RCE Acoustic Electric Classical Guitar, CD/IN Review

Cordoba 55RCE Acoustic Electric Classical Guitar, CD/IN
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have owned this guitar for about 3 years and I am more impressed with it now than the first day I brought it home.I have a number of guitars and the only classical guitar I own that I think compares favorably is an Alvarez-Yairi CY 118.While the Yairi is a beautiful instrument in tone and workmanship, the value of it is that of a classical guitar which resonates throughout your body as you play it.On the other hand, the Cordoba 55RCE sounds wonderful but does not have quite the acoustical resonance of the Yairi. But, the Cordoba has an electronic piezo pickup system that makes the guitar come alive when played through a halfway decent amplifier. The Cordoba includes an electronic tuner and 3 band equalizer as well as a presence modifier with its electronic package. The way I would differentiate between the Yairi and the Cordoba is that if you have only one woman to impress, choose the Yairi because of its personal presence and warm sound, but if you have a number of women in a room and want to find the right one, choose the Cordoba because of its wonderful amplified capabilities. On the whole, the Cordoba is a well rounded instrument that you will enjoy playing with or without and amplifier for years.

Please do not let me leave you with the wrong impression.I am 60 years old and have been happily married to my wife for 35 years. However, given the potential romanticism of a fine guitar, I thought that using a woman would make a better description of the appealing nature of its sound than trying to describe it musically or scientifically.

As with any fine classical guitar, I would highly recommend that you play it before you buy it.All fine guitars are a little different. If it is not possible to play before delivery, make sure you can return it within a reasonable amount of time. This should not be a problem for the dealer. If it is, say goodbye and take your business elsewhere. The Cordoba 55RCE is made from some of the finest wood available in a time of scarcity of fine woods. But, even the best of woods do not guarantee long-term structural integrity.Since the Cordoba has an excellent warranty, please make sure that you take care of it in the prescribed way to preserve the value of the warranty, and more importantly to preserve the sound and beauty of the instrument.Even though it is covered by a warranty, you do not want to be without your guitar for any period of time that it takes to fix it properly. It takes a little extra time to care for your Cordoba, but it is worth it.Buying a Cordoba 55RCE is buying art that is functional as well.If you are lucky enough to acquire one of these fine instruments, I wish you luck and all the happiness that will come from your playing.

Lucero Cutaway Acoustic/Electric Classical Guitar, Natural Review

Nice guitar for the price, plays well, sounds good, nice finish.I changed the strings for better quality ones right after I got it, and that improved the tone and playability, though it did play well right out of the box.The pickup has pretty low output but I use it with a guitar interface into my computer for recording and just boost the signal with the software.I think this is a great guitar for a beginner or someone on a budget that wants a pretty decent classical sound for recording.I dont play out live so I cant say how well it would work in that application
