38" BLACK Acoustic Guitar Starter Package (Guitar, Gig Bag, Strap, Pick, eBook) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The guitar arrived very soon.

A strong smell of chemical something came out on the first day, so I have leave it untouched for 2 days.

The 3rd string was broken. Luckily they give a free set of string, so I could replace the 3rd string by myself.

No e-book.

The bag is OK.

Having sad that, considering the unbelievable low price, the guitar itself is not bad.

Washburn Idol Series Electric Guitar Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Bought it, liked it, ok for the price but i wouldn't recommend buying from sam ash the guitar was ok but the packaging was horrid and poorly put together. On a different note the guitar doesn't stay in tune too long and i was expecting more because it was a washburn but the price tag says it all the WI15 is a lot better for $40 more so just put two more twenties in the bank.

Epiphone SG Special Electric Guitar, Cherry Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This guitar even arrives in a nice box, double protected from Musician's Friend with a larger outer box loaded with packing to keep the prize awaiting inside safe. The inside, another Epiphone box by Gibson.Opening it reveals a masterpiece to the eyes, seemless paint job in cherry, easy on the eyes (no, not the girl who packed it at the plant, the guitar!).I wanted an SG for a long time, but they were so costly I grazed past it to other models for an intermediate like me getting back in the ranks. This thing looks and feels like the Gibson original, it's light, easy to hold, sits perfectly on your knee, tunes awesome, sounds great, and when I put it through my distortion pedal, I thought I was hearing Metallica... of course, then I woke up.The neck plays fast and the pickup switch gives you the ability to have the full two pickups on for rhythm, the back one on only for lead with a twangier taste, and the front one for a heavier-bassier tone. The full two pickups boring down with some strong bar chords are my favorite. My friend who is an officianado grabbed it and made it sound like a $4,000.00 guitar, then handed it back to me with a sneer and said that he could make anything sound good, but the axe I got for $169 was "okay."In his eyes, that really meant he had to say that so I didn't get a swelled head.Together with a SG model hardshell case from Amazon (off copy) with black velvet style interior, it looks delectable.Buy this one first, then move on to something more expensive, but you don't really have to.Save the money and buy yourself a ticket to the Bahamas, but don't forget to take the SG with you... you may need an Epiphone portable amp though for the beach so people don't even dare kick sand in your face. They may even buy you a Pina Colada, but don't be a dummy and spill it on this masterpiece.

Product Description:
Now everyone can own a real SG shape! The SG Special from Epiphone features twin open-coil Humbucker pickups, the Tune-o-matic bridge/Stopbar tailpiece combo for maximum sustain and a fully-carved SG body for devilish good looks.

Devilish good looks.

Twin open-coil humbuckers and the industry-standard Tune-O-Matic bridge.
Rosewood fretboard with dot inlays.
Angled Headstock
Unlike cheaper designs, all Epiphones feature a 14-degree headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut and so you get more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by "string-tree" gadgets.
Double-Waxed Pickups
Epiphone utilizes a double vacuum waxing process that ensures optimum performance. The pickup is first placed in the specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is put in place to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, it is again given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated with wax.
Output Jack
To increase reliability and ensure consistent performance, Epiphone's proprietary output jacks feature an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel.
Toggle Switches
All Epiphones feature our all-metal, USA designed switches for reliable contact and longer life.
Tunomatic Bridge
Fully adjustable, the tunomatic remains a classic after over 50 years. Unlike guitars fitted with tremolos, there are no tuning or re-stringing difficulties. Plus, tone and sustain are improved because all string vibrations are transferred directly to the guitar.
Potentiometers
Epiphone is passionate about performance. That's why their instruments use one-inch diameter potentiometers for better "throw," longer life and reliable service.
Quick-Connectors
For unequalled reliability as well as ease of service, Epiphone wiring harnesses feature quick-connectors.

Fender Starcaster Electric Guitar Pack with Amp and Accessories, Candy Apple Red Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I am a bass guitar player, and own/have owned several bass guitars, including a Fender Mustang and currently a Fender Precision (Sting signature series). I have also owned a Fender Squier (6-string) guitar before. We ordered the Starcaster guitar package for my middleschool daughter.

It's a great guitar with great sound; honestly, the sound is fantastic. And there are a lot of peripheral items included at a fabulous price. We've had no problems at all with the cord or amp, and the sound that little amp makes it really clear. Hit the overdrive, and you get a nice distortion sound. You can't control the amount of overdrive (it's either on or off), but for a beginner or for household use, it's perfect. The compact guitar stand is very stable for its size.

A few other reviewers have criticized the guitar for string buzz. Well, you can adjust the bridge very easily. The package even includes the little hex-wrench needed to make the adjustment yourself. (Anyone that pays $100 for someone else to do such minor tweaking got ripped off ... you may as well pay someone to tune it for you.)

If there is one drawback to the guitar, the edges of the frets are a little rough, something I've never encountered with a Fender product before. I find it noticible, but I wouldn't even call it uncomfortable. And certainly not so rough as to cut up your hands, as one reviewer exaggerated.

One final note, the guitar not only sounds great, it looks beautiful as well. The candy-apple red color is rich and deep (slightly darker than the picture), and the finish has no flaws at all.

I have no hesitation recommending this to any beginning or intermediate player.

Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal - 20 Inch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I began playing clubs when I was 12. Had to sign a waiver to legally play. Throughout my life, I have played in so many bands at so many places and have gone through so many drums and Zildjian cymbals. I just got my 20" ride today. This is, by far, the best cymbal quality I've ever experienced. I also own an Avedis Zildjian from the late 60's (made in Turkey). This USA Zildjian outranks that cymbal and any other cymbal I've ever heard or played...no contest. Sweet. Perfect. I payed $125 in the 60's for the other.....and $79 something for this one. This is a must buy for any drummer.

Zildjian offers both of these extremes and everything between, to give you every possible choice. Ludwig Pinnacle Complete 5 piece Drumset by Ludwig, Wine Red Metallic Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Searching for an affordable, quality drumset is not an easy task. I spent over 5 hours on the internet and found it difficult to find much affordable beyond the juniorpiece of garbage drum set. I searched many quality brands and none had a good entry level complete set (with chair) except for Ludwig. Our son is 14 and has taken lessons, as well as owned the prerequisite cheapish electronic Costco drum set which we threw away last year.I could not find a single review on this product even on Ludwig's own website (where for some reason they don't even show this set - could be because of price point).

I must say for the price, this is a good investment for a beginner to intermediate non-professional drummer.Sound quality appears to be good, quality of set is decent (again not professional level) for the price and we are happy with this purchase as is our son.

Couple of things to note... the set came with no set up instructions and we had to use the internet to figure that out.Purchase at least one extra pair of sticks.

Would I purchase this set again?Yes!Great price for the quality.Ludwig Pinnacle Complete 5 piece Drumset by Ludwig, Wine Red Metallic
