I spent over 5 hours on the internet and found it difficult to find much affordable beyond the juniorpiece of garbage drum set. I searched many quality brands and none had a good entry level complete set (with chair) except for Ludwig. Our son is 14 and has taken lessons, as well as owned the prerequisite cheapish electronic Costco drum set which we threw away last year.I could not find a single review on this product even on Ludwig's own website (where for some reason they don't even show this set - could be because of price point).

I must say for the price, this is a good investment for a beginner to intermediate non-professional drummer.Sound quality appears to be good, quality of set is decent (again not professional level) for the price and we are happy with this purchase as is our son.

Couple of things to note... the set came with no set up instructions and we had to use the internet to figure that out.Purchase at least one extra pair of sticks.

Zildjian ZPB Pitch Black Mastersound Hi Hat Cymbals (15 Inch) Review

(More customer reviews)First off, I have these and YES they do chip. Zildjian or not. (that is probably why they are so cheap)

But with that said I love the tone of this series. I have the 22" ride 16" crash and these 15" high hats. I have had other cymbals including a few Z custom crashes but these are my favorite. Plus, the black does look pretty sweet and I get a lot of complements them but again like I said the downside is when they start chipping they lose a little of their swagger.
