I am very pleased with the quality of this guitar. My daughter who is 7 yrs old wanted to learn to play so badly! So I bought her this for her birthday and love everything about it.I tuned it and it has stayed in tune now for 2 weeks and it does sound nice, definately not a toy.The carrying bag is also very nice quality and it comes with straps and a strap for the guitar as well.In case you were wondering about the guitar strap, this guitar has one button on the bottom and the top ties to the headstock. It also came with an extra set of strings and a package of picks.Along with the help of a beginner guitar book(purchased seperately) and 2 days of practicing she can already play and read the first 2 notes. This guitar is a nice size but it will be awhile before her hands are big enough for chords.Still It is great to start with and not a bad price.I almost forgot the most important part,it is pink just like she wanted. The look of the guitar is also nice and not cheap looking. There are little white stars painted around the sound hole to give it that something extra.BTW the picks are white with pink stars, everything matches perfectly! If you are looking for a professional sounding top of the line guitar then you obviously should look elswhere but if you are looking for a good, sturdy starter guitar that has nice sound and wont break the bank then this is for you.

First Act ME508 Moderator Single Cutaway Guitar with Humbucker Review

First Act ME508 Moderator Single Cutaway Guitar with Humbucker
Average Reviews:

Picked up an ME508 at a yard sale for $[...] and have been having a blast with it. My other guitar is a Burny Rock'n Roll Model (a nice knock-off of a Gibson TV). The First Act Guitar is much less refined sounding but has a nice tone and is very playable. I have to admit, I'd looked down my nose at the First Act guitars until I saw the Westerberg model and read something where he was talking about how he ended up endorsing the brand.

Until then, I'd only seen the strat-like First Act guitars sold at Target next to the slide whistles. I just thought it was all crap. But some of the FA designs are darn inspired, like this one. Then I think about how desirable Danelectro/Silvertone guitars became for their handsome design and simplicity of construction and the First Act guitars seem like a comparable phenomenon. I wouldn't say any of this if the guitar didn't play well. If there's anything that makes me crazy, it's instruments marketed to beginners that are such junk that a virtuoso couldn't get a nice tone out them. This is not the case here. My ME 508 is a pleasure to play. I don't know what the quality control is like at First Act -- maybe I got lucky. It's lightweight and a little heavy toward the headstock and the knobs scrape the paint, but who cares. It has a decent tone, the neck and fretboard have a nice finish, the action is spot on, the frets are clean, it stays in tune, it's handsome in an unfussy way, and it was $[...]. And they're not much more than that new.

Hats off to First Act for making some distinctive looking guitars that are dirt cheap and actually play pretty well.

This guitar also features a tilted 3 +3 headstock and classic hardtail bridge to maximize sustain, chrome-covered tuning machines for accurate tuning, and volume and tone controls. First Act didn't scrimp on style -- the ME508 features a cool blue glossy finish and contemporary pickguard shape.

I compared the Peavey Raptor Plus EXP with a Squier Stratocaster at my local music store. The Squier looked nicer and had a better finish, but in my opinion, Peavey's electronics are far better. This guitar sounds pretty nice and is quite versatile. From a good clean sound, to blues, to jazz rock, to heavy-metal, this guitar can do it all.The Squier had too much noise in the pickups. The Peavey had way less noise and was better-sounding overall.Couple this to a Vox DA5 amp and you have a sweet little electric guitar setup for less than $300.

Peavey Raptor Electric Guitar Package - Red (585300) Review

Peavey Raptor Electric Guitar Package - Red (585300)
Average Reviews:

The Peavey Raptor guitar package is an outstanding value.

Peavey's Raptor guitar is a made in China Stratocaster-like guitar. The quality, while not outstanding, exhibits high levels of workmanship. There are some minor finish issues, but the guitar is solid, and sounds and plays good.Like every electric guitar I've laid hands on, it requires a set up when new (about $40 at my local guitar shop).Once set up, the action is great and the sound rivals lower-end Fender Squiers and Mexican-made Fender standards.

The amp included in the package is serviceable, especially for a beginner. It's clean channel is solid, while the overdrive channel is satisfactory.Because it's a solid state guitar, the overdrive has an on/off type of feel and doesn't vary much with playing dynamics. It will get you started, but will leave you wanting more before too long. However, since it doesn't add much to the cost of the package (the guitar typically sells for about $120 by itself), it's a pretty good deal.

If you're interested in picking up an electric guitar to try it out, this is an inexpensive, quality package.

It will automatically provide phantom power (15V) for condenser mics or active direct boxes. This has an input impedance of 1k ohms. The connector is wired as -Pin 1=shield; Pin 2=positive (hot); Pin 3=negative (cold). 1/4 LINE/HIGH-IMPEDANCE INPUT - This input may be used as either a high-impedance microphone input or for line-level devices such as a cassette player, CD player, video projector or laptop. This will also allow connection from an electric guitar, bass or keyboard. It is a two-conductor input with an impedance of 10k ohms. LEVEL CONTROL - The level control for each channel sends the signal to the master mix bus. Typical operation is between 4 and 8 (dependent upon the input devices) but should be lower than the master level. Please remember that this acts like a preamp, so if you are using a device that has a volume output control (i.e. -a tape or CD player) you will need to do some level matching by adjusting the level controls on each unit TREBLE TONE CONTROL - This is used to adjust the overall tone o

Musician's Toolbox: Learn Guitar Chords DVD
Average Reviews:

I have used the Fender guitar cords dvd (it came with my fender acoustic for free) and Musician's Toolbox dvd and Musician's Toolbox: Learn Guitar Cords DVD will be the ONLY dvd I use from now on.The dvd is extremely easy to follow and everything is viewed first person on the dvd so when you look down at your hands and guitar, it looks the same!! (This is beyond helpful!!!)The tutorials make everything very easy and keep it short and sweet, not like other dvds.Other products may cost a little less, but Musician's Toolbox ACTUALLY WORKS!!!

Musician's Toolbox is completely worth every single penny and I doubt there is a better beginners guitar cords dvd out there. I am SO happy I bought this product and not another.

First Act ME445 Designer Double Cutaway Electric Guitar Review

First Act ME445 Designer Double Cutaway Electric Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
About a year and a half ago, I bought the First Act ME501 for a whopping $59, and loved it.I loved it so much, I took it on stage with me, and it eventually became my first choice over my $600 American Standard Telecaster. It was reliable, and sounded great through my Tech 21 amp.

A few weeks ago, trolling the Ebay site, I spotted the ME445 going for less than $50 - I bought it...once again rationalizing the purchase due to its low price. When it arrived, once again, I was pleased with the craftsmanship of the instrument.I plugged it into the Tech 21, and was quite satisfied with the tone.Whereas the ME501 has a more crunchy, garage band tone, the ME445 has a much creamier and bluesy tone to it.It also seems a little lighter than my ME501, however, it's got terrific sustain.Just like my 501, it stays in tune like a champ.

I still see where people are relegating First Acts to the bottom of the musical instrument spectrum, which is too bad.I've gone broke buying Gibsons and Fenders over the years - First Act builds terrific instruments that stand up just fine with the pricier status symbol guitars.

The ME445 is a terrific guitar bargain for those just learning. In my case, a veteran guitar player of over 20 years, I'm comfortable bringing this axe on stage with me - it looks cool and sounds great...I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again...

Electric Guitar with Built-in Speaker Review

Electric Guitar with Built-in Speaker
Average Reviews:

The guitar looks pretty nice and overall the build quality is decent. But I can't get it into tune and when I get close it doesn't stay in tune for more than a few seconds. I've been playing guitar for more than 20 years and I bought it for my daughter. It sounds absolutely horrible and the internal speaker is useless. It doesn't sound much better when plugged into an external amp.
