Epiphone Les Paul Studio, Alpine White Review

Epiphone Les Paul Studio, Alpine White

I bought mine over 2 weeks ago at Guitar center and was struck by theAlpine White color, which I found out was a Custon Shop limited edition. When I got it home, I noticed that it wouldn't stay in tune and that was due to the fact that it wasn't set up properly upon the leaving the factory in China, contrary to what the inspection label on the back of the headstock says. The intonation, along with the string and pickup height, were in need of adjustment and once I took care of those problems, I was amazed at how well this guitar sounded and how great it stayed in tune. The rest of the guitar from the frets to the electronics, seems to be very well built, but I would've preferred block inlays instead of the dot ones on the neck. Other than that, there was nothing that I could find wrong with this guitar at all. This is a very reasonably priced instrument for the beginner and advanced musician as far as I'm concerned, and I'm speaking from over 36 years of playing. This is a welcome alternative for those of us who can't afford the outrageous prices for the US made Gibsons, and seeing that Epiphone is owned by them, you really more or less have the same thing, just made in a different country, that's all! Great guitar for a great price!

Product Description:
The original idea for the Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar was to create a somewhat lower-priced Paul by dispensing with some cosmetics. The result was an especially clean, handsome guitar with all the Les Paul essentials. Newly designed in 2004, the Studio now has a thicker body that matches its namesake, hot open-coil humbuckers, a set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and mahogany body with carved top. Alpine White finish. The LockTone stopbar tailpiece and Tune-O-Matic bridge provide great sustain and tone, and make string changing easier. Limited lifetime warranty.

I own this T Bird and the Vintage Sunburst. Both of these Basses are my favorite. It has the Action and rumble of a Rickenbacker 4001 and the flexibilty and Tone of a Fender Jazz Bass.Great for a Musician starting out who cant quite afford a Gibson. For the price, you can own the Gibson Quality, even though its is an Epiphone. My only Complaint is that it is not available as a 5 string, but can be tuned as low as CFBE(top to bottom) with out distortion or clipping.

Epiphone Goth LP Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Black Satin Review

From unpacking to soaking my fingers after 4 hours of breaking this baby in, it ROCKS. I've had Epi's through the years and this one beats the older Les and SG models I've played. Pickups scream, sweet neck with low action. If you use a death or grunge box along with it I suggest cranking the amps to 12.

Was going to purchase from Musicians Friend but gave the sponsored link from Sweetwater music store a shot. The guys are great to deal with, and all former musicians. I'll be doing more biz with them, awesome customer service.

This is the my fourth lifetime guitar lol. Im 20 and have been playing for about 7 years. I had a Les Paul that i paid around 1299 for and it was nothing in comparison. This is without a doubt the finest instrument that i have owned. Once i got it in tune i'd say it lasted 3 times longer than the Gibson did before i had to do it again. Its a fine instrument and its a must from the experienced player on down to those who are just becoming interested in music. 6/5 stars. Is'nt it time to get your Wings, Dean for life.

Isn't it time you get your (headstock) wings?

Dime It
The late great Dimebag Darrell is a serious metal guitar hero, and Dean's series of Dimebag models pays homage. Dimebag started playing Dean ML style guitars in the late '70s, and made it one of the most recognizable shapes today. Dean offers a wide variety of Dimebag models to choose from, all boasting Dimebag's distinctive look and tons of mojo and attitude. Mahogany Body
As with the original models, Dean uses a mahogany body for this Razorback.Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain. Set Neck Construction
This axe features a set mahogany neck, which imparts all the well-known advantages of that style: a warmer overall tone with extended low-end response, wicked sustain, and easy upper-fret access (enhanced even further by the cutaways). The 24-3/4-inch scale neck features a rosewood fingerboard, decorated with arrow inlays and a "Dime razor" inlay at the 12th fret.Seymour Duncan Dimebucker Bridge Pickup
Seymour's SH-13 Dimebuckers were designed with the man himself to provide serious output and an aggressive tone. The Dimebucker uses a powerful ceramic magnet and stainless steel blades for serious crunch. The SH-13 boasts more treble bite than a lot of humbuckers, along with low-end punch and exceptional dynamics. A Dean humbucker completes the package up in the neck position, with each pickup getting its own volume conrol, along with a shared tone and three-way toggle.Grover Tuners
If you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard. These guitar machines are a triumph in engineering and style, with a gear ratio of 14:1, perfect gear meshing, and zero backlash and slippage. The gear box has a special lubricant for lifetime, trouble-free service.
Licensed Floyd Rose Tremolo
The patented and often imitated double-locking design of the Floyd Rose tremolo allows you to lock your guitar in tune at the nut and at the bridge. Engineered like no other tremolo system, the Floyd's high-quality steel parts are manufactured to exacting specifications. Beat it up as much as you want--from traditional vibrato to dive bombing leads or flapping loose strings, and stay in tune while you do it. DBD Traction Knobs
Dimebag always rocked his "traction knobs," which he created by taking a soldering iron to them, for knobs that are grippable no matter how much sweat's pouring off you on stage. Dean faithfully recreates that here.

The Dean X Series
The Dean X Series offers ML, V and Z style guitars at a price that won't break the bank. These guitars feature maple necks, rosewood fretboards, dual humbuckers, and plenty of Dean mojo, and are built to rock--perfect for beginners and veterans alike.Basswood Body
The VX features a lightweight basswood body. Basswood is great for heavier rock and metal styles, delivering a nice even tone that feeds a dirt pedal (or a dimed Marshall) nicely.Bolt-On Construction
Bolt-on neck construction provides an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. The advantage of this design is that if you do have any neck trouble down the line, you can easily replace it. The VX's maple neck features an ultra-playable 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, with classic dot inlays.Dean Humbucker Pickups
To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its standard humbuckers, in black-and-white "zebra" style for looks as good as the sounds. And what to expect tonally? These pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination. Each pickup gets a volume pot, and they share the tone control.Grover Tuners
Tune-o-Matic Bridge
The Tune-o-Matic bridge with string-thru body design provides serious sustain, along with precise intonation for your tuning preference. The classic v-shaped plate mirrors the headstock wings for some nice vintage Dean style.
