I own this T Bird and the Vintage Sunburst. Both of these Basses are my favorite. It has the Action and rumble of a Rickenbacker 4001 and the flexibilty and Tone of a Fender Jazz Bass.Great for a Musician starting out who cant quite afford a Gibson. For the price, you can own the Gibson Quality, even though its is an Epiphone. My only Complaint is that it is not available as a 5 string, but can be tuned as low as CFBE(top to bottom) with out distortion or clipping.

Steinberger Synapse SS-2F Guitar with Gigbag, Antique White Review

Steinberger Synapse SS-2F Guitar with Gigbag, Antique White
Average Reviews:

I've always liked the efficiency of the minimalist Steinberger.I mean, why have more guitar than you need? The day I got my Steinberger Synapse it already had problems. An annoying buzz from deep in the guitar.I contacted Gibson who referred me to one of their local warranty luthiers. He removed the buzz after a week in the shop.Since there's so little to the guitar, I wondered how they could miss something so fundamental.I wanted to go a guage lighter on the strings.Double-ball end are hard to come by, so I loaded regular single-ball end into the guitar. The hex screws that were supposed to hold the strings didn't.The head-end has a design flaw so that any string under a certain gauge will wiggle right out of the clamp that is supposed to hold the string. The last straw came when I went to adjust the action and intonation. There is a hex bolt that keeps the bridge pieces from flopping around.I needed to loosen that to do anything that moves the bridge, like adjusting action and intonation. The problem is, the hex screw was half-way underwater, that is the head of it was so low perpendicular to the body of the guitar, that in order to insert a hex wrench you would need to drill a divot into the guitar body to insert the wrench.I can only assume this is problem of execution, because the instruction manual pictures show the screw head above the guitar body. Now I have to pack up a a brand new guitar for RMA at Gibson.Who knows what I'll get back.Support from Gibson has been slow.I don't think they care too much about their Steinberger brand. Now that I know how poor their execution is on making a guitar, there is no way I would buy a Les Paul.

I've played this guitar in the store, and boy was it fun to play.
Not only was the sound incredible for the size of it; it was so easy to play, and you really had the feeling that you could give it a good hard playing.

Crisp sound, great tone, and very solid. The slim body is sure to please smaller players, and the sound carries more than enough volume.

Being able to play out of an amp only makes it more versatile.
I already own a takamine and a martin, but this guitar is a great instrument at a great price.

Schecter Hellcat VI Electric Guitar (3-Tone Sunburst) Review

Posted by Sherrie Kearney on Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Schecter Hellcat VI Electric Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This instrument is not a standard guitar, nor is it a baritone-range instrument. It is a six-string short-scale bass in the same tradition as the Fender Bass VI. It's designed to be tuned E to e, like a 'normal' guitar, but one octave lower. In other words the bottom four strings (EADG) are the same as on a normal four-string bass. What makes this instrument different are the addition of high b and high e strings that extend the range of the bass considerably higher. This was conceived as an instrument that guitarists would take to quite naturally; same number of strings, same tuning, scale length is only about 6" longer than most guitars, and you can still play full chords on it, all one octave deeper.

The Schecter Hellcat itself has a good deal of old-school mojo. The three mini-humbuckers really offer a ton of sound options, and you can easily nail the surf-rock sound and launch right into Some Jack Bruce rifffage with the flick of a switch. It's very solidly built, as with nearly every Schecter instrument I've ever handled. Fit and finish are consistent, if not better, than you'd expect at this price. Playability was excellent out of the box, and only required a few very minor tweaks to suit my own peculiar playing style. I'd guess it could easily become an heirloom piece, and I wouldn't be surprised if these are being sold as 'vintage' instruments in thirty years.

An interesting side note: there is exactly one set of flatwound strings being produced for this instrument; if that's what you want, Google "LaBella flatwound short scale six string bass." They run about $45; any set of strings for a bass as uncommon as this one are going to be pricey, so you won't be changing 'em every week.

If you've already done some research on Bass VI-style instruments, and you're looking to get your first, this is really you're only affordable option. They're rare, and don't often pop up used; when they do, it won't be a favorable price for those beginning on this instrument. On the plus side, this means if you don't care for it, resale value is quite high; you won't lose much on the deal. Usually, this instrument comes with a custom-sized hardshell case, which takes some of the sting out of the price tag.

The short version: If you're looking at this kind of instrument for the first time, then this is the one you want. Get it now!

Ampeg AMG100BK Wood-Bodied Dan Armstrong Electric Guitar, Black Review

Ampeg AMG100BK Wood-Bodied Dan Armstrong Electric Guitar, Black
Average Reviews:

The guitar arrived within the promised time frame. Out of the box the action was good and needed no adjustment at all. The neck and fretboard are fast and very comfortable to hold. The sound is good, without any hum.

The guitar is described as having an interchangeable pickup system but only one pickup, the Dual-blade Humbucker, is supplied. There is no 2nd pickup, called the Rock Treble, for sale anywhere.

It has a light body but a heavy neck so it tends to point to the floor when not held up.

If you look at the picture you'll see six tuners of an electric guitar.
The body of the guitar is made of BASSwood and that is probably where they got the idea that this is a bass guitar. The neck is of a slim design and is a little too narrow for my fat fingers.
The guitar is solid and sounds good, all-in-all a good set but not what is advertised!
As a guitar I'd give it a 4.5, the poor rating is that it is NOT a bass guitar!

This was one of the first basses I ever owned, and I can quite honestly say it was one of the best. It had stellar looks with a powerful meaty sound. It always turned heads, it was a monster. It had low action and I had it tuned down to C and it kept in tune always. It handled everthing I could do to it, as well as others. One of the best made basses around.

Chrome diecast tuners.
Basswood Body With Beveled Top
Basswood provides a warmer tone than maple and other hardwoods, along with great low-end response, and is overall a lightweight wood. The notorious Warlock body shape requires no introduction, and looks great in glossy black.Beveled Top
Most of B.C. Rich body styles employ a beveled edge around the shape. In many ways bevels on a top are similar to facets on a cut stone. They catch the light and reflect at different angles giving the instrument more of a three dimensional look. Some of the B.C. Rich top bevels are extreme and wide while others are subtle and narrow. Occasionally the shape of the instrument is accented by painting the bevels a contrasting color.Bolt-on Neck Construction
A number of B.C. Rich guitars use a classic bolt-on construction. On these instruments the neck is bolted on with 4 screws to the body. This construction offers some added flexibility in the instruments adjustment and provides the option of changing the neck in the future. The Warlock bass features a maple neck with an ultra-playable satin finish, and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays.

24 frets means access to a few extra notes, with a full two octaves on each string--and the deep cutaway means you can actually access them.B.C. Rich Bass Pickups
All B.C. Rich imported bass guitars are equipped with either passive or active EQ B.C. Rich bass pickups. These factory B.C. Rich pickups give a good solid response across the bass spectrum eliminating unwanted muddy undertones. The center detent tone pots give the player a wider range of sweeping tone control to provide the maximum low end clarity and power.Hardware
The Warlock features a stop adjustable tailpiece, for getting proper intonation. The chrome diecast tuners offer solid tuning, and feature a chrome finish to match the bridge and volume/tone control knobs.
