(More customer reviews)The Amazon customer service rep I talked to before making the purchase was helpful, although difficult to understand. However he did answer my question, as to whether a case was included, accurately. The shipping department could use some training, as the item was mailed (that's right, USPS) in a plastic bag, which (not surprisingly) ripped in shipment, resulting in some scuffing to the case. The instrument itself remained unscathed.
Acoustically the tone is very bright and well defined. The action is about average for a guitar in this price range. There is no noticeable fret buzz or unwanted vibrations. The downer came when I plugged it in and found a predominant peak in the frequency response around the G (3rd) string. I have many guitars, none of which exhibit this, so I'm convinced it's not me.
On the bright side, it is a very beautiful instrument. I also got a good deal on it, about $150 below normal street price, but I'll probably end up spending that money (and maybe more) to have the electronics "fixed" at my local Washburn dealer.
