Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Shadow Preamp, Vintage Sunburst Review

This Review is for the Epiphone EJ 200 CE guitar. It is almost a great guitar. It is well worth owning, but there are a couple issues to address. I purchased the guitar for $449 plus tax, total $480. The guitar is alittle over priced. It was made in Indonesia, but I was hoping it was from the China factory because they seem to havebetter quality control. I read a review that the guitars needed a neck adjustment to lower the action. That was acurate ,and the strings should be replaced with a lighter gauge . That was also acurate. Other than that, it is a great guitar. I know it is a copy of the gibson J 200, but who has 3,000 for a guitar? I've played guitar for over 30 years, I've owned Gibson's and Fenders. This guitar ranks up there with some of the best. I'm happy with my purchase, and have already used the guitar with my church band. I'm hoping to have many years of enjoyment out of this guitar. It is an impressive instrument visually and sound wise. A purchase that was well worth the investment. I have the sunburst model. No regrets buying this guitar. I recommend the Epiphone E jumbo case to keep it safe.

Dean Performer Mini Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Classic Black Review

Dean Performer Mini Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Classic Black

I was looking for a good guitar in this price range and had narrowed it down between the Ibanez AEL10EBK and the Dean Performer E Acoustic Electric Guitar. They seemed pretty equivalent from their description.Originally I had decided on the Ibanez because it had an established name (I never heard of Dean) and the pickup it used was an established brand ( a Fishman Sonicore).By contrast the Dean had it's own pickup which I knew nothing about.I was about to buy the Ibanez but I wanted to hear it first.I went to a local music store and took it down to try out.To my surprise it sounded very shallow, wooden, and muddy. There was very little resonance to the instrument. It sounded almost like a solid body guitar. When you strum all the strings at the same time it sounds muddled.I plugged in the Ibanez and found it sounded the same way.It was muddled. You didn't hear the individual strings.Just an overall "blahhh".As it happens, another music store down the street had the Dean Performer E so just for kicks I went there to try it out.I was shocked by how beautiful it sounded for such an inexpensive guitar. The instrument resonated. You could hear each string brightly and clearly. When plugged into an amp the sound was bright, and full.I also found that the Dean had an "on-board" tuner with a graphic LED output that allowed you to tune the guitar instantly. This tuner is actually one of the best I have ever used.It tells you exactly when the string is in tune.It doesn't bounce around all over the place like other tuners I've used.I found from this experience that "name" isn't everything.Sometimes products from an established and well known company can under-perform newcommers. In this case that is exactly what I found.Needless to say I bought the Dean and have been very happy with it since.

I bought this guitar package for my 9 year old grandson forChristmas.I got it out, tuned it and played. The strings are very good.No tinny sound or buzzing. It has such a sweet sound. The amp is sooooo awsome!!We only had to put the volume to "1".It really cranks.I know my grandson will be amazed at this guitar and I am sure it will last for many many years.
I'm thinking of purchasing another of these Epiphone packs for myself.
Nancy

B.C. Rich Warlock Electric Guitar, Black Review

B.C. Rich Warlock Electric Guitar, Black

Wow, for the price its impossible not to give this guitar a 5 star rating. This is better than most of those $500 guitars that try to have a nice shape. The design was what caught my eye at the guitar shop, and than i saw the price. The other reviewer said it had bad humbuckers/pickups, but he must have a crappy amp, cause this guitar carried a mean, tuff tone on everything. haha, its not a good idea to play acoustic style songs on this, as i've tried. Truely for the metal-hard rock lovers. But i play mostly Punk, and it gets the job done. You won't find a better guitar, for this price; especially the looks.
