When shopping for a semi hollow, I kept looking back to this guitar. After playing Gretch and Gibsons at well over twice the cost, I couldn't deny that this provided all the warmth and roundness I was looking for.I've had it over ten years, touring and the only problem came from another player breaking off the toggle switch.Hardly a fault of the guitar's.Great buy.

Epiphone Dot Studio Archtop Electric Guitar, Worn Cherry Review

Epiphone Dot Studio Archtop Electric Guitar, Worn Cherry

Considering the price and everything, this guitar is almost worth five stars. I compared this guitar to a Gibson Custom Shop Alvin Lee "Big Red" and it's amazing that for about 10% of the cost of the "Big Red" you're getting a hot axe that has an incredible unbelievable sound. One key component are the double Vintage Alnico V plus pickups. The fretboard is fast and the workmanship is pretty good for this price range. Comparing this Epiphone Dot Studio to other 335s' from various manufacturers, I found that the Epiphone has done the best job in this category, and it's because Epiphone is a Gibson company and that may explain it why.
This guitar is relatively light for a semi-hollow body and the setup was perfect right out of the box with low action the way I like it. I think the worn series finishes with the worn cherry etc. are a unique touch although I also like the tomato red, the yellow, the alpine white from recent editions. A very good guitar at a very affordable price.

Luna Athena Hollowbody Acoustic Guitar, Gazelle Review

I am a new guitar player and this guitar makes it easier for me to fret the more difficult chords due to the slim neck and very low string action. Of the three guitars I use to practice, this one is my favorite. It is physically beautiful and sounds great. My boyfriend, who has been playing for decades, loves to play it, too. It is very much worth the money and I wouldn't be surprised to see it become collectable. This guitar makes it fun to practice.

Product Description:
A stylish hollow body guitar that combines the best elements of vintage jazz-age Art Deco design with totally 21st-century technology and sound, the Gazelle is one fabulous raven beauty! The pick guard sports the profile of a graceful gazelle springing across a pearl-white crescent moon. The neck makes a departure from Luna's signature crescent moon fret markers, replacing them with Art Deco-influenced geometric inlays in a visual crescendo from headstock to body. Chic, smart and elegant, Luna's Gazelle heralds a new era in instrument design.

Epiphone Dot Studio Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar, Worn Brown Review

I've been playing 20 plus yrs with studio and performing exp......This guitar has a warm vintage tone which is so sweet!!!! The lack of a hard finish lets the guitar breathe so to speak and gives that vintage sound guitarist dream about... add a few Gibson humbuckers and youhave a $2,000.00 Gibson sound......it took about 8 hours of playing to break it in...change the strings...the factory ones are fair....this guitar blows away most Ibanez and Mexican strats....I cranked it up on a 65 watt amp....wow.....a real sound...not plastic like so many new guitars out there today.. a great price.... I will use this guitar on my next recording project.....p.s make sure you carefully tighten up the tuning keys and the volume and tone controls...the red one looks better than the walnut finish....Triple J....(from detriot motor city )

Product Description:
The Epiphone Dot Studio Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar builds on Epiphone's great tradition of archtops such as the legendary Sheraton and Emperor. Simplified controls and minimalist styling provide great functionality and elegant visual appeal while powerful Vintage Alnico V Plus pickups give it plenty of bite. Drawing on the classic 335 vibe, with mahogany top, back, sides, and set neck, the Dot Studio guitar dishes out hot blues and rock when overdriven or thick jazz tones clean. The scale length is 24-3/4", with a nut width of 1-17/25". The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece provide more sustain and string changing easier.

THE DOT STUDIO IS A GREAT GUITAR, as I now have one!
I did have a cross threaded nut on the jack socket, but not a huge issue...plays like a dream! Looks damn cool, simple controls. Sounds pushed to the limit, but also great for warmer jazz tones.
THE IMAGE ON THIS PAGE IS NOT THE DOT STUDIO!!!! FOOLS,, update web your site.
