Fit and finish are EXCELLENT, fret work is EXCELLENT, playability is EXCELLENT and the tone is very good.

I've played a bunch of Epiphone Les Pauls and to my ears, the tone of the Agile is much fuller and complex.I would classify the Epi's tone as "mid-rangy".This guitar almost sounds like it has single coils, almost chimey.

I only gave the tone "very good" because what I was really looking for in tone was something similar to a Les Paul Recording or 56 Les Paul black beauty with single coils.If you have ever heard Les Paul at the Iridium in NYC, you know what I'm talking about.Of course these guitars can cost over 20 times the Agile.

This guitar is definately a keeper.If you are considering an Epi Les Paul, you should take a look at the Agile 2000

It's a little heavier than I thought (which is good,helps with it's really good sustain)the paint job is killer (not tacky or cheesy looking,)the neck is more dark brown than black though,the pickups are killer (pinch harmonics galore, wicked crunches,stylish clean tones. It needed no adjustments. I scoped out the neck,it's all good,intonation is good, all I did was lower the low-end side of the bridge's screw 1/2 a turn and the high-end's around 1 and 1/2 turns. The chords crunch and the solos fly out with buttery ease. Everything works fine,all the electronics,etc. it's all good. It stays in tune well, I'm pretty heavy handed and it's doing fine. It comes with what seem to be 9 gauge strings. I broke a string, tried some 10 gauges, they felt stiff,stayed in tune great, but I'm sticking with 9's. The bridge is a little strange, there's a goofy little paperclip looking thing holding down the saddles. Maybe just for shipping?It was buzzing so I ripped it off and threw it away. The string tension holds the saddles in place. Normally with this kind of bridge that isn't the case but whatever, I don't really seem to care. All in all this is a bitchin guitar. I'm stoked on mine and play it all the time. I like it so much, I'm going to order another one next week! And it's only $140.

(More customer reviews)I bought my guitar about a month ago, and wanted to play with it for a while before I gave my review, as this is my first guitar.

IF YOU BUY this guitar (which I highly recommend you do if you're looking for a good beginner/intermediate (maybe even expert, from the reviews I've read) guitar), then do yourself a favor and replace the strings right away, they're so horrible that they're worth replacing with cheap strings from WalMart!

Otherwise, it plays great, amazing action right out of the box, neck is as STRAIT as a freaking laser beam, perfectly set-up guitar, the only guitar I think I'll ever see that actually gets sharper as it goes out of tune rather than flatter (I swear this actually happens, the neck isn't bending back or anything, like I said, it's strait!), but it only did that until I replaced the strings, now it stays perfectly in tune, I only need to retune it if I put it in my bag and the knobs get nudged around. Sounds great, sustain is practically twice as long as my crappy bass, it just keeps going like the energizer bunny!

Now on to the looks. This is a beautiful guitar, beautiful wood grain, amazing finish, and about the only thing that I take pride in keeping clean. My bass just gets put in its corner when it wants me to clean it. I love this guitar like it's my child. I would love to practice at work, but I'm way too afraid of it getting stolen. If this guitar ever does leave me though, I would hands-down buy the exact same one not only because of it's great price, but because it's just a great and beautiful guitar.
