The only negative things I have ever read about this guitar where people griping that it's not made in the US. Cry about it, You can thank Fender for that. I did a lot of research before buying this guitar. I had always dreamed of owning a Gretsch, but like many, the price left me on the outs. (Ideally wanted the Reverend Horton Heat model) After lamenting the price difference between this and the Ibanez Artcore AG75, I opted for the fastest payoff and cheaped out. Huge mistake. The AG75 does not sound anything like a Gretsch. So I sold my Upright Bass and bought myself this model. I switched the strings first. 11 Gauge seem to hold the tone the best. The next thing I did was trade out the pickups for the much better TV Jones Classic, which curiously enough, is set up on TV Jones website which specific ones to buy for the 5120 (seems like it's the thing to do). Now this guitar screams. It sounds like any guitar Gretsch makes up to the $2k range. The action is great. It sits very comfortably and is very well balanced when playing standing. It's just a beautiful guitar and you honestly cannot find a better guitar for under $1,000.00 anywhere. Stop thinking about it and buy it.
