(More customer reviews)This is a remarkable instrument.Right out of the box, the guitar was set up perfectly.I would give it 5-stars if not for the packaging being less than what the guitar deserves.The packaging was flimsy compared to how well the guitar is put together.However, the guitar is an absolute stunner -- just beautiful to look at and hold.Flawless manufacturing, set-up is done wonderfully with great low action (if you like low action) and no fret buzz.You'll probably want to change the strings, however. Mine were a little marred with some oxidation - changed to Ernie Ball 10s. which is what I'd do anyway.The Deluxe-F is suitable for most any playing style.She can rock and sustain very much like an LP, but if you like to play cleanly, she will not dissapoint. The f hole on the bass side gives it a little darker sound, but personally, I like a darker tone. The coil tap feature is cool -- just another tone option that you really don't find on many guitars in this range.Basically, I think Hagstrom did a very nice job... a unique guitar with great looks and playability that is flexible with myriad music styles.

The Deluxe-F features a 45mm Mahogany body, 10mm Carved Maple Top, optional Flame Maple Veneer,and a Maple Set Neck. The fingerboard is made from Resinator wood with Hagstrom 6mm Dot Position Marks. Resinator wood is more stable than any standard wood product. It is the perfect fingerboard material in that it eliminates wolf tones or hot spots, and it has a smooth, articulate sound.The H-Expander Truss Rod provides tension at either end and running the entire length of the neck, and the rigid yet lightweight alloy truss rod allows for a very low action and thin neck, two factors that were instrumental in earning Hagstrom its reputation as the world's fastest playing guitar.Other features are: Hagstrom 18:1 die cast tuning keys, 24.75 inch scale length, a 3-way pickup toggle switch, a long travel T-O-M bridge with Hagstrom trapeze tail piece, 1 x volume/ 1 x tone/mini-toggle coil tap switch, and 2 x Hagstrom custom 60 humbuckers.
